Make a habit of asking people you meet about what is important to them. You will get a variety of answers, but the best come from those of long lives. Some of the most genuine answers come from the old, as they stare down the end… they know all too well. You must figure this out for yourself, before you reach a point where it slips beyond your reach.
The Most Important Thing, and frankly… the only thing, is Love. Any answer from anyone that is worth hearing will resonate this fact. Love of a job, love of a purpose, love for a family. Finding love in another human being is special. Finding someone you love who is willing to face the suffering of existence by your side… it’s like nothing else. The spiritual practices all differ on this, but should you find real love, hold onto that above all else in existence.
So go and love, and be rejected. Face the suffering, because when you figure out who you really are, you will find a love that is worthy of you. Don’t let bitterness find you, for it is our purpose to be hurt in this life. Let yourself get hurt, but learn, and don’t give up until you know. Settle for nothing, and live for love.
